THE PROBLEM
Karoon Energy is a globally focused, independent oil and gas exploration and production company. Karoon Energy operates in Australia, Brazil and Peru, and has a number of ongoing projects across these regions.
Helicopter Creative was asked to create a modern and distinctive identity for Karoon Energy that represents the company’s vision, values and expertise, and establishes a strong brand presence in the highly competitive global oil and gas industry.

Through our collaborative workshop sessions, we discovered a need for a modern and sophisticated brand that would foster team unity and resonate with their dynamic and evolving business.
THE DEVELOPMENT
To start the branding process, Helicopter conducted a discovery and strategy workshop with Karoon Energy to gain insights into the values and goals they wanted to convey with their new brand.
During the workshop, we discovered the client had concerns about their outdated branding and that they felt it no longer reflected their ever-evolving business. Furthermore, we found that the lack of structure and consistency in its application created confusion and disconnect within the team.
Through this collaborative process, we revealed a need for a new brand that represented the client’s innovative and quality-driven approach, while also emphasising their expertise as a safe and reliable oil producer. The client also requested a logo that highlighted their five values of respect, safety, collaboration, integrity and commitment. Based on these insights, the design team developed and refined a sophisticated yet dynamic brand that align with the Karoon’s vision.

THE SOLUTION
We developed a dynamic and contemporary evolution of Karoon Energy’s previous logo.
The logo mark is sophisticated yet bold, portraying the company as a trustworthy and reliable player in the energy industry, instilling confidence in its customers, stakeholders, and partners.
The swoops and curves incorporated into the logo were purposefully chosen to represent the idea of adaptability and transformation. These elements symbolize Karoon Energy’s ability to evolve and stay at the forefront of the industry, while also embracing new challenges and opportunities. The dynamic and fluid nature of the logo showcases the company’s agility in responding to changing market conditions and technological advancements.
